About Scandium Canada

Our Mission
Scandium Canada has the ultimate goal of operating the world’s primary source of scandium and advancing the development and commercialization of aluminum‑scandium (Al‑Sc) alloys. The Company leverages its subsidiary dedicated to Al‑Sc alloy development and its Crater Lake mining project to meet the growing demand for lighter, greener, more durable, and higher‑performance materials.
The company aims to become a leader in the scandium market while committing to building a more sustainable economy through innovation and agility.
Our Projets

Located approximately 200 km northeast of Schefferville, Quebec, the Crater Lake project is our flagship. We hold 100% rights to 96 claims covering 47 km². This site is recognized as one of the most promising primary sources of scandium globally.
Scandium+
Scandium+ is committed to the commercialization of all forms of aluminum‑scandium, beginning with the pre‑commercial launch of its Al‑Sc powders for 3D printing, as well as the development of new high‑performance alloys for use across all economic sectors. Scandium+ is dedicated to the research, development, and commercialization of innovative scandium uses. We strive to unlock the full potential of scandium through strategic partnerships, cutting-edge technology, and a commitment to responsible stewardship, leading progress across multiple sectors.
Our Commitment: Deliver revolutionary, lightweight, ultra‑durable materials to advanced industries.
Patent Pending: In September 2024, the company filed a provisional patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for two Al‑Sc alloys dedicated to 3D printing.
Strategic Advancement: One of these alloys are A535 and 7075 aluminum variant modified with scandium and other metals, designed to replace standard AA7075 in aerospace, automotive, and military applications. The result: either lighter parts with equivalent mechanical properties or parts of equal weight with enhanced performance.

We are proud to collaborate with the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach, with whom we signed a pre-development agreement in 2024. This agreement establishes a foundation for respectful collaboration on all pre-development activities within traditional Naskapi territory.
